Inspired by the vision of becoming a significant contributor in the progress and development of Quezon, the local government officials of Polillo, thru its Executive and Legislative Agenda, forged a partnership that is anchored on mutual aspiration of bringing the best of life to its people.
The output of our 2013 Executive and Legislative Agenda is the summary of our assignments where we, as public servants shall be measured according to our
capabilities, honesty and integrity. It is the conviction of our leadership, to couple our dreams with true and dedicated labor, to show that we are responsible steward of our own share of land. Let us join our forces to move the mountains that hampered our progress for decades.
HISTORY
Trade relations between the natives of the Polillo Islands and Chinese merchants existed long before the Spanish conquerors came to the archipelago. Trade was a conglomeration of Malay-Hindu-Chinese-Tagalog.
Padre Morga wrote that Polillo originated from the Chinese word "Pulilu", which means beautiful island with plenty of food. When Juan de Salcedo, a Spanish conqueror came to Polillo in 1567, he saw a central government fully organized through the Balangay, with a datu who had a direct supervision and control over all the natives.
